The Danish Folk Council (Folkemusikkens Fælles Sekretariat) is the common organisation for folk music in Denmark. The organisation was established in 1994, is located in Aarhus and is funded by the Danish Arts Council's Committee for Music. The secretariat works to promote Danish folk music in Denmark and abroad and functions as a knowledge and information centre for the Danish folk music scene.
Danish Folk Council

The Danish Folk Council collaborates with the three other national folk music organisations:

An umbrella organisation for folk music venues, guilds, institutions and individuals working with or promoting traditional folk music:
Circle of Folk Music Houses (Folkemusikhusringen)

An organisation devoted to all kinds of folk music, both Danish and international:
Danish Folk Music Association (Folkemusiksammenslutningen)

An association for active traditional Danish musicians and other people interested in traditional dance music:
Danish Folk Dancers' Association of Dance Musicians (Danske Folkedanseres Spillemandskreds)

Besides these, a wide range of associations across the country cater to people interested in folk dancing, traditional dance music and songs, folk musical instruments and various different styles of folk music.

A comprehensive overview is available at the link page of the Danish Folk Council. Further information - in Danish only - is available from the publication 'Folkemusikscenen', which is available from the secretariat.
