Every year, a number of music festivals and gatherings are held around the country focusing to a greater or lesser extent on folk music.
The largest of these is Tønder Festival, founded in 1974. The festival has a distinctive international profile and takes place every year at the end of August. All kinds of folk music and jazz are represented.

At the other end of Jutland Skagen Festival takes place around 1 July every year.
