In August The Danish Folk Council presented a three-year plan for establishing Danish folk on the international music scene. The focus will be on promotion material and presentation of 4-5 Danish bands at major festivals, contracts with major labels, transportation support as well as coaching 2-3 up-coming bands/artists.
So far the project has received funding from DJBFA, The Danish Society for Jazz, Rock and Folk Composers, and the copyright organisation KOPIFON. An application is being considered in The Danish Arts Council Music Committee.
