Saturday night the Danish section of IFPI held The Danish Music Awards for the 19th time.
The best music from last year was celebrated with awards in 17 different musical categories. The show was held in KB-Hallen in Copenhagen and shown live in DR - Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
This year the jury had focus on young and new artists like Nephew, Veto, Mikael Simpson and Trentemøller. Most of them on small labels which means that the independent record companies received 11 out of 16 awards Saturday night with Copenhagen Records in the lead.
