Since 1979 Copenhagen Jazz Festival has presented jazz to Danish and incoming visitors from abroad. 250.000 are expected to attend the concerts.

This year's international headlines are among others Eliane Elias Group, Mavis Staples, Jan Gabarek, Joe Zawinul, McCoy Tyner Trio, Joshua Redman and Kenny Garrett.

Special themes are:

• Jazz for kids
• Giant Jazz
• Future Sounds of Jazz

Plenty of local Danish acts are presented in the Copenhagen indoor and outdoor venues, many of the outdoor concerts being free of charge.

As special concerts two young Danish composers are presented as Official Festival Composers 2007, in cooperation with the Danish Arts Foundation:

Jakob Bro,  guitar player and composer

Simon Toldam, piano player and composer

The Danish Arts Agency supports the visit to Copenhagen Jazz Festival of a jazz booker from South Korea.
