DMA's  Folk 2008 show took place in Tønderhallen in Tønder on the 8th of March. The folk group Trio Mio was awarded prizes in no less than four categories.

DMA-Folk's Special Award went to Torben Laursen, who has been a folk music producer at Danmarks Radio for many years.

The Special Prize for promoting Danish folk music was awarded to Peter Uhrbrand.
