Tønder Festival is one of the largest festivals in Denmark with focus on folk music. The festival, which has a distinctive international profile, takes place every year at the end of August. All kinds of Folk, Roots and Jazz music are represented.

This year Steve Earle and Arlo Guthrie are the international headliners and among the danish acts are groups and artists like Instinkt, Marie Key, Niels Hausgaard and Steffen Brandt. The Tønder Festival was founded in 1974 and takes place 24-27 august 2006.
