Awards

A regular annual event is provided by the Danish Music Awards Jazz, at which the record industry honours the most important releases of the previous year. The awards take place in Copenhagen. On the website you can see which artists and releases have won prizes since 2004.

One of the world's largest international jazz prizes was awarded in Denmark every year from 1990 to 2004, The Jazzpar Prize. Among the 15 prize-winners are Lee Konitz, Django Bates, Martial Solal, Aldo Romano – and a single Dane, the percussionist Marilyn Mazur.

The prestigious Danish Léonie Sonning Music Prize has also been awarded to jazz musicians, namely Miles Davis in 1984 and Keith Jarrett in  2004.
