Competitions

Emergenza, an international competition/festival held in Denmark which features almost 100 selected bands, making it the biggest musical competition in Denmark presenting up and coming bands. The winners go on to the European round of the competition.

Melody Maker Contest, a live competition for bands and soloists.

Starfighters, a live competitions organised by Skanderborg Festival.

Awards

The Danish Music Awards (DMA), the Danish recording industry's most prestigious award, presented annually by IFPI in co-operation with DR, various media, magazines and sponsors.

The Nordic Music Awards is a new music award (2004) which has been established to recognize and honour the most important and talented Scandinavian artists.

Steppeulven - Den Danske Kritikerpris (The Steppenwolf - the Danish Critics' Award), The Danish Music Critics' Association has created an alternative prize to the DMA
